“The children (and adults) always enjoy your energy, incredible knowledge and pure passion when it comes to educating about The Hudson River and the surrounding environment.”
- Ashley Cretara, 2nd grade teacher/Inservice participant, Haldane Elementary School

Teacher Workshop
Linda’s classroom workshops include music, dramatics, humor and an abundance of energy enhancing the overall workshop topic.
$250 for an hour
- Cooperative Games: Non-competitive, cooperative, energetic, FUN games are introduced and played right in the classroom and then in a bigger environment – outside or in a gymnasium. The concepts of cooperation and collaboration are exemplified in every activity.
- Macroinvertebrate Exploration: Living water creatures are examined gently with simple tools in your classroom. The creatures are identified and discussed and conclusions are drawn regarding their importance in the living world.
- Iva Choice: Dressed in a giant coat with many hidden pockets, Linda dramatizes a scene with a stranger who is unaware of the “three Rs”: recycling, reusing, reducing. Lists are developed for what students can do to limit their impact on the natural environment.
- Hudson River Artifact Story Writing: Using genuine Hudson River Artifacts brought to the classroom in an antique trunk, students create stories to describe individual items and determine through non-fiction or fiction how they came to be on the Hudson’s shores.
- Songwriting: Students write a song parody to enhance any subject area. The process includes brainstorming, listing, voting, song characteristics, rhythm and rhyme, and a mathematical sense of ratios between existing song phrasing and their new original lyrics. See examples of student work!
- Web of Life: The Web of Life is a great culminating activity to a unit on the environment. Animal cards are selected and a giant string web is created to show the interdependence of the natural world. What happens when just one creature is removed from the web? This activity is a poignant and intense demonstration of a key environmental concept.
- Design A Workshop: Linda’s experience and expertise can be called upon to design a unique workshop experience based on your needs and curriculum. Dramatics and music are sure to be included!
- Field Trip in a Box: If your school is close to woods or a pond or river, Linda will take your class outside to explore the natural world right outside the window. Prices vary with size of group and nature of field experience.
